The conference, sponsored by the EMBO (European Molecular Biology Organization), brings together out-standing professionals who investigate different phenomena in a wide range of cellular models and who approach the subject in diverse areas, which include basic and applied research, new technologies for the research and the role of the signalling and its spread in normal physiological or pathological processes.
To understand the signs that regulate the cellular processes is a fundamental aspect for the development of the cellular biology and for the comprehension of multiple diseases and is the interest of Dr. Bronfman's laboratory, where a type of neuronal signs is studied known as neurotrophins, related to diverse processes as the neuronal survival, remodelling and regeneration.
In her lecture the Dr. Bronfman will speak about the importance of the intracellular traffic, specifically on how the BDNF neurotrophin takes part in the dendrite's remodelling in hippocampus neurons.
